Alexander Wang shines bright once again for FALL 2016.Debuting his Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear collection, Alexander Wang has delivered yet another strong line-up at Saint Bartholomew’s Church – and it was definitely far from sacred. With a cool ambience and downbeat sound track of Riff Raff and Drake, it even had Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Hensen) jumping out of her seat eager to place her orders.
Maybe it was the Saturday night vibe in New York that got everyone going but it wasn’t a catwalk to miss. Showcasing a mix of irreligious clothes and accessories, Wang had clearly moved past the angelic show he put on for Balenciaga in a church in Paris just four months ago.
Adapting the sloganeering approach splashed across chests and wrapped around thighs were titles “girls,” “tender,” and “strict”. There were hems and seams stitched with silver hardware, skirt suits and coat dresses in leather and lace, oversized slogan and hooded sweatshirts, as well as suede and leather boots with metal piped cap toes and silver rivets. Never leaving anything to chance, Wang made sure he embellished every model with coordinating chokers and chunky earrings. Creating the perfect arrangement for an almost effortless look, this collection guarantees to lend attitude to its wearer.
Nothing is sacred here and its just the way he likes it – these are clothes he wants you to live in.
