The Hidden Towns Of France

HIPE have put together a selection of stunning French towns and villages to visit in 2016.

With France just over the water we felt it was time to share our thoughts on the hidden gems of France.

See below for our top French towns and villages to hit up this year.

1) Colmar, France.

With cobblestone streets, vibrant architecture and a fantastic selection of wine bars, restaurants and cafes, be sure to visit Colmar this year.

2) Gordes, France.

With a population of just over 2000, Gordes is without a doubt, a must see destination for 2016.

3) Albi, France.

Located on the River Tarn, 85 kilometres northeast of Toulouse sits the pretty town of Albi.

With a growing population of just over 49,000 people, Albi has managed to build strong ties with the local wine suppliers, meaning you can enjoy a day by the water with some of the finest drinks and foods available.

4) Lourmarin, France.

In the summer months Lourmarin can become a tourist hotspot, but despite the worldwide love for the picturesque town, Lourmarin is home to some of the most interesting French history, stand-out dining spots and high-quality, yet affordable wines.

5) Riquewihr, France.

With a strong German influence, stand-out dining options, fine wines and beers, sights and more than enough history to keep you occupied, make sure you add Riquewihr to your summer road trip.
